best how to reloading book

The most detailed book is 'Any Shot You Want' It's put together by Arthur Alpin. He's the guy that started 'A Square Co', and has a fairly storied past, but it is obvious he has a handle on handloading and wildcat cart. Some of it is pretty technical, but straightforward, and chapters are written by different men who have years of firearm experience. I got mine about 15 yr. ago. Mark
 
I honestly got more practical instruction from youtube than "ABCs". It is good to have a reference book, but videos and online load data from powder manufacturers has been invaluable.

Take from someone who has been reloading for over 50 years....
Buy as many books on the subject as you can afford, read them, compare them, digest the information....
You never have too many books on reloading....

I agree with johnone, i have a well stocked book case and still buy more. The guy that says he knows it all is either really smart or an internet expert.
 
Speaking of internet experts...be careful with some of the guys on youtube. Some of them have been reloading for 5 minutes and decide to do a How-To video. If the guy spends more time scratching his head and correcting his mistakes, it's time to move on. Check the comments out too as a lot of guys will call them on their mistakes. Don't get me wrong though: there are tons of great videos out there that will walk you through the on-press process. But I found it to be lacking on case-prep videos.

As far as books go, I'd add the Lee 2nd Edition and the Hornady 8th Edition to the list. Especially if you're using Lee equipment or loading Hornady bullets. Their data is different, but between them and the Hodgdon (or your powder manufacturer) website, you can figure out a good starting load and start working up.
 
The best reloading manual is Lyman, and it has a lot of how-to information for the new reloader. ABCs of Reloading is a useful book but limited in scope because it doesn't have any data. There's lots of stuff on Youtube.

If it were me I'd buy a Lyman reloading manual and search Youtube. The Hodgdon website has a bunch of data. Lee and RCBS have some good videos on their site, too.

I found ABC's a very practical reloading guide. I had the version written by Dean Grennell not sure about the newer version as I've never read them .
 
Another rec for the Lyman book, I learned about 50% from there, 20% from other books, 10% from other internet sources, and 20% by asking questions both on CGN and of other reloaders in person. There's no magic '1 source', in my opinion.
 
ABCs excellent. Lee somewhat self serving but good too for beginner book & broad overview.

Sinclair International's Precision Reloading & Shooting Handbook also very good for a bit more advanced (more thorough prep) book.

Although I have 5 different reloading manuals I mostly refer to the Nosler and Sierra texts. Once the basic fundamentals of reloading hunting ammunition is accomplished, it is down hill from there. Quite elementary but "loads" of fun. This year is my 30th year of reloading and still find it most interesting and enjoyable..............especially the results in the field and at the range.;)
 
The ABC's book is good but for data and just good info the two Ken Waters books have always been a favorite of mine. Hard to find I these days I think but I got mine off Amazon.
