Hi,

Looking for some input from casters and reloaders. I want to cast and load plinking ammo for my sks. While waiting on the local shop to get the Lee 7.62X39 155gr .312 mould in I have been looking up information and found that the mould I have on order is a little on the heavy side compared to what others use.

I am wondering if I should get another mould in the 120-150gr range for plinking with my sks.

I am looking at cast only to keep the cost down for a target round and to avoid the full cleaning after shooting surplus.

Anyone that casts and reloads for sks please share your bullet/mould that has given you good resaults.

Thanks,
Cactus

I think the .311 160gr LEE would be a great choice. I have been using the 150 .309 tumble lube in my M14 with good results and no leading.

From my experience "Best" and "Lee" should not be used in the same sentence. This comes from many years of fighting with Lee molds. They only fall apart when everything is ready, the melt is up to temp., the mold has warmed on the hot plate, you've treated the mold, for avoiding galling and lead sticking, you're ready to cast, oh oh what just fell in my hot lead?? #### I just got burned, here it is, it's half my mold!!
