Best Left Handed .22 Semi Auto Pistol

I can't speak for the target style .22's like the Buckmark, Ruger etc, but if you are talking a tactical style semi auto those that come to mind are the Walther PPQ .22, M&P .22 and the new Glock 44-.22. All three of these are about as ambi as it gets, and lefty friendly. I have experience with the Walther and the M&P and both are fun and reliable with the right ammo, the G44 is yet to be experienced lol, so I cannot give an opinion on that. As a lefty myself, I have adapted to a right handed world and do my manipulating with my left hand index finger, even on the handguns I own with reversible mag releases I never change them. My theory on this is if I ever need to grab a handgun I'm unfamiliar with at least my actions will be the same if it's not an ambi model, however that's just my thinking and everyone is different. Even the 1911 style .22's can have an ambi safety, so don't limit yourself to looking for full ambidextrous, as a lefty I'm sure you will adapt :)

I just adopt to right handed handguns. Finding dedicated left handed 22 pistols would limit the selection too much. I do like the mag release location on the S&W 22a though. Not like I need a lightning fast mag change on a 22 anyway, and you can just sling shot the slide instead of using the slide release.

Thanks Edgy, I am interested in the new G44 actually and I like 1911's. Do you know if the Sig P226 or the GSG 1911 have an ambi safety or other features to make it lefty friendly?

Not sure about the Sig, although I know the .22 upper for it is dependable, the GSG1911-22( and Sig 1911-22, same gun) do have an ambi safety. I ran a Sig 1911-22 in speed steel and for new shooters to try for a couple of years and it was a great gun, I slammed over 25 thousand rounds thru that gun and it was totally dependable with HIGH VELOCITY ammo :)
I'm currently running an Advantage Arms .22 upper on a Glock 19 frame and it has been absolutely flawless, so I'm torn on the G44 simply because the AA kit I have is so solid.

For interest, does the Walther PPQ eject on the left side as does the P38? That little quirk is why I'm very careful to have my safety glasses on correctly and wear a hat when banging away with the P38 or P1.

I use a beretta neos and i'm left handed- actually anthing without a dedicated palm swell or straight grips works just fine and that includes the norinco m93 woodsman
