Best LPVO for excessive recoil ..

From my understanding, M-1a / M-14 were hard on some brands too ..
Some semi-autos (usually piston guns) had a secondary impulse on the optic when the round was chambered. (Think heavy BCG+piston coming to an abrupt stop) It acted in the opposite direction from the recoil of the round being fired. Some airguns were notorious for this since they only had the forward impulse.

Some 308 with flimsy plastic stock have quite a recoil. Limbsaver helps a lot or a brake but that is noisy. I have shot 338 in a heavy wooden stock with less recoil.
