I have not had any magazines fail on me and they are a mix of USGI and SAI.
I realize that the AIA mags fit and function in an M14. While it's perfectly legal to have them I wouldn't want to be the guy who was caught shooting his M14 with them. I wouldn't assume that you can have 10 rounds in the rifle regardless of the original application intended by the magazine manufacturer. To my knowledge the firearms act makes no exception to the 5 round limit for these rifles. So if you do have them on your person you might want to have a rifle with them that they were designed for. Something to think about.
This situation is covered by Special Bulletin for Businesses # 72 http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/bulletins/bus-ent/20110323-72-eng.htm. The magazine is manufactured for a Lee-Enfield Variant and a 10 round limit applies. What it fits into and functions with is irrelevant so long as the mag is unmodified. I don't expect the cops on the ground to know all of the intricacies (tho' they should) so, as with the LAR15 magazines, I keep a copy of the bulletin in my range bag if I ever have to argue the point.
