Best M44 scope

Hey Guys... I just got a M44 from Trade Ex 2 minutes ago... ( called for 2 tt-33 mags and ended up with more ... lol )

So I ordered the no gunsmith Mount and was wondering what would be the best scope for this riffle ?

If you are using the mount that replaces the rear sight, you will need to use a long eye relief scope; ie scout scope.

the Leupold 2.5x28mm come to mind ?

Long eye relief scopes are only required when mounting far forward in the so called "scout" configuration. Not very common on general hunting firearms. My friend has a Leupold one on his M94 Trapper. Lever guns that have a top ejection system are good candidates for scout mounted scopes.

Didnt want to fork out 400$ just in case I dont like this set-up...

Will try out the M44 with this scope and if I like it I will buy the Burris Scout...
