Winchesters and one of the Italian are made in Turkey. Nothing wrong with turkish
Its not an issue of manufacturing skill, its an issue of poor engineering design and QC.
The Alder A110 i bought was 100% Turkish designed and manufactured and it was complete garbage, it failed to cycle even 3 rounds.
The SAP 6 I bought was 100% Turkish designed and manufactured and it was complete garbage, not only did it fail to cycle, but the 1913 rail sheared off and fell onto the ground after 200 rounds.
The semi auto AR shaped shotgun my buddy got was once again 100% Turkish designed and manufactured and it also failed to cycle. Roughly 1000rnds later He ultimately classed it as GARBAGE.
And ive seen countless other models of "Turkish delights" fail at 3 gun matches.
I would agree that there are a few good Turkish designed models out there.... some of the MKEs and the Turkinelli. But for every good Turkish designed shotgun, there seems to be 10 that are complete sh!t.
Now if you design and QC it outside of Turkey, and get the Turks to manufacture it. The end result is usually an exceptionally good firearm for the money. Guns like the Winchester SXPs and Weatherby PA-08s to name a few.
I will also acknowledge that the Turks do seem to be progressively getting better at designing guns.
