What mags seem to be running good in the RPR. My Factory mags were a headache..always had rounds jam. I have one AR 10 PMag and feeds well but can't single feed due to it stopping the bolt, guess it can be done but is a PITA. The OAL of the PMAG doesn't allow for seating depths past factory spec. Suggestions? MDT mags are an option but are very short OAL.

Have you tried the magpul ACIS Pmags? Not sure about 6.5 and what your OAL is, but they work awesome with my .308, I have the 5 and 10 round.

My max OAL 2.812....longest I can get in this PMAG. Factory spec in my Lyman is 2.825. Would like a mag that can get alot more OAL, feeds well and doesnt stop the bolt. Will look in to the AICS Magpuls.

Cheers!!

I measured one of mine and inner dimension is 2.884", and pretty sure I could open it up to 2.93" with a dremel or file and still be plenty strong, if that helps at all.

Accurate Mag with out the front plastic binder plate. I don't have the specs right now, but I can load my 260 well past book specs. Check in with Gary at Big Horn Sales, he can likely get what you need.

Just saw that the new RPR's are shipping with polymer AICS mags now...similar to the magpul ones.

I was thinking of shopping around for those Ruger PR polymer AICS 10 rounders just to see how I like them in my .308 RPR... The MDT polymer mags work well, but I hardly load a full 10 booolits inside them. I'm happy loading 5 and 5 in the TWO MDT magazines I bought from Lazlo at MDT for $39.99 each.

Right now my 2 factory RPR magazines (Accurate Mag ... steel) are still in the plastic wrap. I do have a 10 round Accurate Mag that came with my Gunsite Scout Rifle and I'm using that with happy success with the RPR. :dancingbanana:

Cheers,

Hey Barney I find the mags I use most are the Magpul ACIS 5 rounders, easy to load feed great, they have a trim line on the follower too if you want to run 6 rounds, but 5 shot groups is my norm so left mine at 5.

I also have the 10 round magpul ACIS but hardly use them.

Myself and another shooter both are having issues with our steel AI mags in our Rem 700 in a Cadex chassis.
I was using Federal Gold Medal Match in 308 last weekend so its not due to my handloads being too long.
I have to play with the rear of the top bullet in the mag sometimes to get it to feed correctly as it will jam the bullet below the chamber .
Once there are only 7-8 rounds in the mag it feeds well .
I am assuming the feed lips on the mags need to be bent out a bit ...anyone have a measurement for these or any ideas whats up?
Thanks
