Just wanted to share stories and the joy.

This season I went looking for a new pump action for waterfowl/gamebirds to replace my ageing, S/S Double-barrel. I really wanted a semi, but with a new AR180B and a CZ-858 on the way, it just wasn't in the budget.

I had a few standards I wanted (12ga, 3 1/2" chamber and screw-in chokes)so after searching a few shops, CGN, and catologes, I founld one that seemed too good for the price it was offered at. It was the Mossberge 535 ATS in the SIR catologe. I got it and for the price of $334.99 ($401.00 or something after NFLD taxes and shipping) I got a NEW pump 12ga with a 3 1/2" chamber, 28" VR bbl, F,M,IC accu-chokes, wood stock, EXTRA 24" Fully rifled slug bbl with adjustible open sites (plus the reciver is drilled and tapped for a mount), cable lock, and I use the little, padded, metal thing that held the barrel in place in the box as a mag-light mount (see pic).

Only thing I don't like is the plastic safty (look/feel better as steel) and the white plastic front bead (but I guess I could put a better on on there if I wanted).

I've put well over 500 rounds through this so far without a hitch. And killed a few birds in the process. I think, for the price, this can't be beat.:)

Lol! Love the mag-light! For zombies at night? :p

My buddy got a great deal on a Stoeger 2000 synthetic in max4 camo with 3 bbls and 5 chokes for $845.00 plus taxes. I think they threw in a turkey choke as well. That's killer for a semi with a Benelli action. ;)

I think I got a real good deal, especially from a local dealer in Hamilton. I paid $350 tax included for a rem 870 express super magnum new in box. :) Loads of steel shot later it's still never jammed or screwed up. ;)

Yep. Good price. They're usualy about that price or slightly more plus tax.

I like the dumdum site Ljungman. Does it help at all? I've always been curious about them... I think you got a very good deal tho.
The Mossberg 930 semi for $478 (3", 28" barrel with 3 choke tubes, fib opt. sites) was what I was going for this fall but ended up inheriting a 35 year old Winchester Model 50 (from Gramps in mint cond. of course!) that has served me well.
I also looked at the Stoeger M2000, very good deal IMO. That'll be my next shotgun in a couple of years since my current one is a fixed full choke.
So I guess the best deal I got on a gun is... free!:D

I have "Leader" sites (or Mickey Mouse Ears as I call 'em) on all my shotguns except the .410. Do they work? Let me put it this way: I s-u-c-k...SUCK at wing shooting. NEVER hit anything in the air. I put one of these on my s/s double barrel, and got two ducks in the air that day, the first time I used it. For about $6~$7....it got me sold.

I picked up a Superposed in Exc+ (only wear was the gold finish on the trigger) with a 16### serial number (yes, pre WWII) at the Calgary gunshow a few years ago (just before all our firearms had to be registered). Got to the fellow at the end of the gunshow an gave him $1200. Gotta love those last minute sales. I'd say it' smy favourite shotgun...so far.

The best (and only - seeing as this is my first shotgun...lol) was the TOZ 34 I picked up from Armrus for $250. I wanted a real working shotgun, one that was good for both hunting and trap and skeet. I also am a real sucker for the look of an over-under....and I'm a damn cheapskate. I really felt that the TOZ met my needs in all of these areas. I'm not saying its the best shotgun ever made (a browning Citori may one day be in my future...), but for a beginner, it really has been everything I've ever wanted. I hope that its a starter shotgun for my yet to be born... :)

It was this crazy deal that got me thinking I should buy a shotgun in the first place.

I got a Belgium Browning Superposed Skeet with case for $500.

:D

Edit:Just checked the Serial # and it is a 1969 superposed

I paid 600 for mine, but it was black synthetic with 5 chokes, and 2 barrels.
Personally, I love it. Its as light as you can Imagine, and soaks up heavy loads better than a gun much heavier. (11-87 et al)
Its not nearly as refined, or fitted like a benelli, and the price reflect that, but its a no nonsense gun and a great bang for the buck. Ive put a ####load of shells through mine, and have yetto have a problem.
I bet Im getting close to 2000 shells through it...

was at a gun show this guy had a 870 wingmaster for $375.00 maybe had 3 shells put through it. i himed and hawed and he finally dropped the price to $325.00 i took it but had to fight for it because others that were close enough to hear the bartering were trying to take it from me when it got down that low.

I once traded a slightly used 870 Supermag and a well used Remington 1100 youth 20 for a slightly used 870 20G and a Citori 20 with 26" BBLs and the stock was already cut perfectly to my LOP.

I thought tha was a great deal.

I know I posted this already in another thread but, my recent purchase of a Baikal MP-153 (dealer demo) at $500 (incl. taxes) with all the hardware and warranties...

:) :D :) ;)
