So as my Mk47 is on the list... what do you guys think is the best current non restricted option for the all the crates of 7.62x39 ammo and AK mags...

Type 81 and M10x but both are outrageously priced. I am waiting for something more reasonable to come out. Maybe the WS-MCR will be decent

Exactly. Unfortunately current SKS options aren’t my thing. I’ve also seen a pump Troy PAR in 7.62x39 in the EE.
It’s a great round. Unfortunately AK’s are dust collectors...

I was ready to jump into the M10X however the reports haven’t been great :(

WS-MCR in 7.62x39 or sell the ammo and pick up something in 5.t6. 7.62x39 is selling for a lot more right now than when you probably bought it.

Sell the ammo, buy a semi in 5.56

dunno why the importers only bring fixed mag sks's in from china. There must be a few thousand ak mag release style SKS-D models over there collecting dust in some norinco wharehouse.

Someone needs to manufacture a canadian made SKS-D complete trigger pack with the ak release.... can't be that hard if china managed to do it.

Even if they do find them, hell I bet there hiding in a forgotten warehouse somewhere in Canada, seeing as fixed mag sks's are just sub $400, we will probably need to pay close to a grand for the D models in the current climate. What's worse is they will still fly off the shelf probably while half of us are at work. I actually started bringing my PAL with me daily in case a deal pops up online that I can't risk waiting to get home to buy. Tough times.

If they did make the trigger pack you’d still have to mod the bolt to use ak mags. If you really wanted one you might as well get some tapco conversion to those duckbill ak mags I think in those versions the bho still functions.

M10X??? YUUUCK !!!

I had one. It was by far the least accurate gun I ever owned.

I did'nt say least accurate "rifle" for a reason.

I have smooth bore shotguns that are far more accurate with slugs than my M10X was.

Seriously, with the best bullets, I would not have bet 5 bucks that I could shoot better than 12 inch group at 100 meters, but I would have jumped on a bet against anyone who thought that they could.

I could not sell it fast enough.

If they sort out the accuracy issues, then it would be an interesting rifle.

If you are considering one, buy it used and only if you can shoot it first to confirm accuracy.

I love the SKS for what it is but suddenly the SKS is the best option for defending ourselves from government tyranny... it's like a bizarre Twilight Zone episode.

And we're comparing the options to expensive inaccurate junk like the M10x and the Tavor.

This all tells me most everyone is gonna hand em over when the two years are up with barely a whimper.

Now the commie rifle is the only real defense we have against the commies. (for now ... bet it ends up on the list eventually). Makes me wish I were a screenplay writer. It would out class Red Dawn.

few thousands in a warehouse? hardly, while the rifle is surplus but not the carrier, stock and front sight block bcos of the bayo lug, also mod are required of the receiver, mag catch and bolt. all this required a min order that an importer thought it was too much to handle a few years ago before we had the SKS-KD , it kinda killed any possibility (below min would push the price much higher).

WK181C by Kodiak Arms? Not currently listed on their website. It’s s great Canadian made option if it becomes available...

I never thought I'd say this, but T81 is probably the best NR 7.62x39 option. I had zero desire to own one, but ended up with one anyway.... and liked it more than I expected I would. Otherwise, building a 7.62x39 rifle on an ATRS receiver set is an option.
