Best non-steel-core ammo?

Word on the street is that some ranges are banning the use of military surplus 7.62x39 ammo.

Apparently the steel cores are causing problems.

So what's the best non-steel-core ammo to use?

that is pure BS on the part of the range ! the steel core ammo wont create more ricochet or damage to the back stop than any FMJ round...

i have heard of this only with indoor shooting ranges. if a magnet sticks to it you cant shoot it. the shooting edge i think has a range that forbids it.

I have the same problem too.
Could someone recommend a non steel 7.62x39 that can be used
at indoor ranges?

I know there is this soft core that is used for hunting at LeBarons, but I can't
justify the $1/round...
