BEst Norinco value

My vote would go to the NP 29. Others on this board have their favorites.
This 1911 in 9mm has been good to me right out of the box.

Well I quite like my NZ-85b, with 3,000 rds through it and my M-93 with 5,000. The NP-22 was nice to shoot but cracked on me. I have a 1911C on the way, so I will have to wait before I can say anything on it. I also have a SKS that hasn't been fired.

Well I have a project 1911A1-C that should be done by the end of the year.
I like their 1911 series and also the CZ knockoffs are great as well.

1700+ through my NP22, give or take. Took a good look at it after an outing to the range last weekend. No troubles, bubbles.

Agree. 1911 seems to be the best Norc buy out there.

I'm siding with the NP29, the 9mm M1911 platform. Still gotta wait for that slow boat from China.

are they on the way, as in the ship already sailing in the ocean? if this were the case, we could expect them in about 2 months...

or are they stuck at the port waiting for papers? if this were the case, it could take forever...

I agree. Mine was the first handgun I've ever owned.

After I replaced the cheap rubber grips with Hogues, people can't believe it is a Norinco. The bluing on it is beautiful and no rough machining marks on the exterior.

Reliable and cheap to feed too.

Best value is such a personal thing to judge. To each of us are many different factors that go into making that decision, and obviously, sometimes better "value" is worth a few extra dollars. Personal fit of the tool is also (as we all know) so huge in determining whether or not we can get good and happy use out of a handgun.

That said, with the experiences that I personally have had with two different Norc handguns, which have been echoed by my dear wife, and more or less confirmed by our good shooting friend...

The cheapest Norc you can buy will make just as good a door stop as a more expensive one.

I do realize that a great many people have been pleased with their Norc purchases.

I am not one of them.

Cheers,

Neal

For a base gun to build in to a full custom gun the A1 or Commander size are great buys. I had the NP 29 and got rid of it only because I have an STI Trojan in 9MM and didn't need two guns. To bring the NP 29 up to snuff I would have had to replace the sights - gun was very accurate but why Norinco puts such lousy sights on a gun they have tried to throw in a few extras is beyond me. Aside from the the NP 29 was very accurate and very inexpensive to shoot. The 1911 in 9MM is a great shooter and will be ideal for IDPA when Trip starts making 10 round mags for the gun.

Barrel fit on the Norinco 1911's is hit and miss. The Nork I have done a complete custom job done on had the barrel link break after about 1,500 roounds and it was caused by poor barrel fit and because the the problem lay with the barrel I had to install a new one. Gun has shot a 1" group at 25 metres from a rest thanks to Dlask.

Take Care
