Best optics for M14?

I have a polytech M14 in a Sage EBR chassis and I'm wondering what kinds of optics guys are running. I've searched for like a "best" optic thread but couldn't find anything. I'm kinda looking for a non hunting scope but still with variable powers. I have searched to see what true DMR M14's have for a scope but I can't find any info on that either.

The best scope is the one that suits your needs. There are pages of scope info out there regarding brand reviews. I suggest you figure out how far you are going to shoot and be honest with the budget. Nothing wrong with used scopes either. Got a minty Leupold Mark4 3.5-10x40 on the EE for $750

cant complain, was picking cans off all day long at about 100yards with the irons. brought my father along and hes eye sight wasnt good enough though
