best optics for rem 700 milspec 5r

the question should not be about what scope for the gun, but for what type of shooting you do. target scopes are a poor choice for hunting and you can get darned nice fixed length scopes like a weaver for well within your budget if you do shoot targets.

I would like to be able to do both. This year ill br sticking to the range as this is my first scoped rifle and want to become familiar with it. Were you saying that the fixed Scopes are better for hunting? Did you mean don't instead of do at the end of your message?

As an alternative you could always try a falcon and if it's not at all what you want just flog it on the exchange for a small loss... If it is what you want then flog it for some $$$ to get a better optic... Maybe you will fall in love with it and keep it?!

Besides... Chances are you ain't gunna find a nice vortex anywhere on the continent rite now and Sightron is even getting scarce... I have been debating on glass now for half a year and just put in my order with Mystic precision for a Siii 8-32x56 LRMOA and I kinda feel lucky to actually get on the short list.

This is not true, ATRS has both PST's (SFP) and Sightron's in stock, The Sportsman Den in Red Deer also has PST's (SFP) in stock and ready to go. If you plan on hunting at all I would definitly look for an illuminated reticle.

Laugh2

I had a SFP in my hands the other day... The dust on the box made me sneeze...
The FFP seems to be a hot seller as 5 vortex dealers couldn't seem to find me one from Hongcouver to Halifax...

If you find one don't hesitate to buy it, i wouldent have... Nice optic...

In the end I got a Siii 8-32x56 for less $$ and it's from a great board sponsor... Win win for me...
