i'm looking to get either a vortex PST or HS-T, somewhat undecided. budget is ~850
what is the best place to get vortex scopes at the best price in calgary? I noticed wholesale sports had a sale on the 2.5-10x PST but they no longer have stock
I think I want one of the 4-16x44mm of either, doesnt seem to be much difference between the two other than illuminated reticle?

It is going on my new vanguard s2 in 7mm-08 rem, my first and only centerfire rifle. I want to use it for both hunting and target practice.

Can't go wrong with vortex, given your description Thiugh sounds like you are newer. I would say a good deal at a retailer might be cheaper anyway, if you buy the optic and have your rifle on hand they will "normally" and should give a discount on rings and mount and boresight it for free. If you buy it in EE then have to take it in it can cost 100$+ just to mount.

Lol good deals and Vortex don't really go hand in hand specially since most selling are just unloading an old optic for more than what they paid with the new pricing. I have never seen a store do more than 10% off exept on a demo days but staff normally grab them before the public.

As a not on your price range PST's in 4-12 are 1200-1500 even used are 1200 save the tax. never used the HS but are still 800-1000$ if your not shooting 1000 yards plus the Viper line works perfectly well for 100-500yard shots and they are 450-700$ Might get you some better rings and a few more boxes of higher grade ammo vs an overkill scope.

yeah your right, i think theyre in the low 1000's for a PST without FFP reticle, 860 for HS-T
I'm kind of leaning to the HS-T since illumination seems like a novelty I probably wont need seeing as how we cant hunt in the dark anyways, I just don't want to stinge now and regret it later, HS doesnt have exposed turrets or I'd get that.

the PST would be affordable if i got the 2.5-10x44mm, same price as the HST in 4-16.
but i think the 2.5-10x PST doesnt have parallax adjustment (not sure if it would be needed, also not sure if 4x16 is too much magnification to be doing closer range shots on a deer... field of view wise? any input there??)
