Hey everybody,

I'm looking for recommendations on the best place to buy a Kestrel as I'm looking to upgrade from my phone's ballistic calculator. Probably one of the 5700 elite models. Do these things ever go on sale? Do any of you guys have opinions on using the Linked range finders?

Also, are warranties serviced through a Canadian distributor or do they go right back to Kestel?

Thanks!

I've been using a 5700 Elite for a while now, it's a great tool, especially if you learn to use it properly. I've just started using it linked to a Sig 2400BDX lrf and so far it's been great. Much faster than scrolling to the correct distance on your Kestrel to get your dope. Not really a benefit fo PRS-type shooting but great for any kind of match that requires you to range and get dope on the clock.

We recently had a brief 3 hour intro course by a Tier 1 SF operator on the 5700 with AB, which made us realize how much we do no not know. Top professionals use the 5700 with advanced kit such as Vectronix Rangefinders Switzerland where we just had a tour and demos. We use the 5700 with the Terrapin X and look forward to properly setting it up and receiving further instruction on the range. Advice is "Truing" is the most important part and it is clear the 5700 is the most advanced kit available and it was pointed out that software updates are free.

Best regards,

Peter
