Anybody know a good place to get some .22 snap caps?

Best I see on Ebay is 2 for $18 shipped

@ P&d Enterprises: Pachmayr 24 pack of .22 snap caps $18.00 Told me the shipping would be $22

Amazon sells five packs of A-Zoom Snap Caps for $16.40. I've heard that the A-Zoom Snap Caps are very good, apparently the anodized aluminium holds up better to repeated use than the plastic ones. I'd like to order some in 9mm but haven't been able to find them in Canada and I'm not sure if it's legal to order them in the states and bring them back across the border.

#6 (yellow) conical screw anchors for concrete can be trimmed to fit as .22 snap caps.

I've used them and they are cheap and handy. They had a short life, but worked well enough for the price (as I had a bunch that came with some electronics mounting kits).

The A-Zoom ones are freaking #### garbage that wear fast.

22LR, 9mm, 54R ,12ga all are failing rapidly, may as well just get STEEL blanks made instead as these aluminum ones are soft weak bull####.

These things are pieces of #### I wish I never wasted my money on, empty hull stuffed with pennies DOESN'T wear out.

Lips on these A-Zoom fall apart so fast from extractor wear, cant even do loading drills with my 12gauges anymore they just double feed and screw up over and over.

#4 plastic drywall screw anchors.

even same size rims as the 22 LR ammo 100 for $4 at your friendly local hardware store.

you may or may not be able to practise racking slide with this, depending on your mags.. i can actually do it with 2 in the mags for my GSG 1911. always dry fired with one in the chamber and i store my 22LR guns with one in the chamber.

I find the Tipton ones don't feed properly. I picked up some A-Zooms and they work great in my Savages. WSS was constantly sold out though, and I finally picked some up from a small store named West Coast Hunting around here. It's probably one of those items that you're better off checking small stores for.

However, I wouldn't dry fire with either. Neither are spring loaded, and I have the firing pin dents in the A-Zoom rims and rear edges of the Tipton rounds to prove it.

Spent round casings.........?

Spent round casings will work but you might have to do slight re-sizing. It will be very tight to push back into the chamber. I bought a pack of Pacmayr from Al Flahertys almost a year ago. I still have half of them left in the package. After few dry-fires, the rim cracks and you cannot re-use them anymore. Aluminum snap caps are not for dry-firing.

I just bought a 5 pack of the 9mm A-Zoom snap caps at the local gun store here (Sunshine Coast, B.C.) so they are available in Canada even if you can't find them locally. Of course they were out of stock for about 3 months before I picked them up.

This I have found true of any RF "snap-caps". They are in fact cycling rounds only. As has been mentioned in several posts , use spent cartridge cases. Because chamber dimensions can vary from gun to gun save the brass from cartridges fired in your FA. After a few strikes turn the case to get a fresh spot on the rim.

I've tried many types and find the Tipton hold up the best. The Pachmayr break apart on the first impact and often need a cleaning rod to push out the remains.
