Hi,

I'm going to Edmonton in a month's time for about a week. My intention is to get myself a nice Mosin. Where are the best places where the staff will more than likely let me check out a few an pick a nice one?

I'll try CT of course, and probably Cabela's.

Never been there and I'm not familiar with Edmonton much. I will definitely add Milarm to my list and my GPS will lead the way lol! although I don't see milsurps in their listing...

Milarm and Sebarms have a regular trickle of Mosins, although I haven't been in either store the last week or two. The best Russian rifles come from Westrifle (Vancouver) and its only 25 bucks to ship. I've picked up dozens of rifles for myself and others from them. Best deal for the buck if your looking for a better than average Russian rifle.

Yeah, you won't see a lot of milsurps on their site. You have to visit the store. You'll like it. While you're there, try and visit P&D too. They're not too far apart. Although P&D does not have a lot of milsurps.

Since it hasn't bit said yet, try Wholesalesports as well. Had some good luck on an SKS there recently, but their service can be lacking and has generated them a lot of haters.

Otherwise as said:
P&D
Milarm (both within a 4 minute drive of eachother)

If you're going south past Leduc, the CT there is well stocked.

I'll hit Leduc for sure. The Yellowknife CT manager told me he ordered some Mosins, but its been a month + and nothing in the showcase...

As for Westrifle, as I live in the NWT, I'm most likely not getting any shipping deal there.

The CT in Leduc had 3 of them as of last Saturday. They were priced around $160. I noticed one in particular that was quite clean with a light amber shellac and an unblued polished crown. Not sure who did the rebuilds on these or who is the supplier, but they seem better overall condition than most others I've seen. Sebarms occasionally gets in some from that same batch as well.

Guys,

I went back to our CT, and they received their Mosins! I couldn't wait and the manager was good to me. I picked the one that looked the nicest. $199, 1942 Refurb from Izhevsk arsenal.

Tell me what you think!
-Receiver, bolt, buttplate and magazine plate all matching. Bayo not matching. The stock is pretty nice too. The bayo is way too tight, I will have to work on it.
