Best price for Moisin-Nagant and 7.62X54R surplus ammo?

Toying with the idea of playing with a Moisin-Nagant this year. I am told you can shoot surplus ammo cheaper than you can load for the rifle.

What do these rifles in good shootable condition sell for? What does surplus ammunition sell for, and where?

A surplus crate of 880 sells for between 200-300 bucks. Its the shipping that kills and breaks the deal. THe going rate on a shooter grade Mosin is under 200 bucks.

Yes, easy to load and most Mosins shooter better with a .312 diameter bullet. Also lots of commercial ammunition available as well in may different bullets. Great gun to shoot for a great price. I've dropped a lot of critters with open site Mosins.
