Best price on Mini 14? Trijicon RMR in place of rear sight?

Hi, I was wondering what the best price was on a new Mini 14, the wood stock version, new production (581). I have seen $799 on FrontierFirearms site, is that the best price? I like the free shipping also (dont want to pay $50 for shipping lol) .

Also, does anyone know if you can remove the rear sight? Do you think a Trijicon RMR could be mounted somehow on there?

That's the going price, and the free shipping makes it competetive.

Not actually sure on the rear site being totally removeable.

As afor the site I would mount it forward either on a small rail, or on a scout-style rail.
 
Burris (and probably others) makes a set of adaptors that clamp to the Ruger dovetails and provide a Weaver-type dovetail. I'm sure you could use just one, either front or rear, and then mount a small red-dot to that.

You wouldn't even need to remove the rear sight for this.
