Looking for advice from fellow CGNers on their experiences with aftermarket muzzle brakes and what you'd recommend? I'm wanting one for my Remington 700, with 26" barrel. Thanks!

Not sure you will find a "quiet" brake they are loud by design, are you looking for a brake that is less obnoxious? I have a BCM on my Rem 700 haven't really tested it compared to a regular brake.

I am actually looking for a muzzle brake for all the usual reasons, less recoil, less jump, like the look of them, etc....and would like if it didn't have to be much louder or annoying then not having one. I know, a tough combination to achieve.
I have read about several in the States on different sites that guys seem to love, but none of those seem to be available here in Canada when I search them.

The noise and effectiveness of the brake are generally directly linked.

This. Now if you want something that is a good compromise, check this model out:

I have one on one on my LTR. Works really well. Cuts a bit of the recoil but where it shines is there is no muzzle jump/climb. Recoil impulse goes straight back. I don't loose the target in the scope while fireing.

You'd be better off asking this question in the Precision Rifle section.

But that said, a MB will make each rifle louder no matter how you cut it. Obviously you're wearing at least one if not two layers of ear protection (at least I really hope you are) so the side percussion are really what would annoy the other shooters beside you.

The 2 in the middle are the very effective, and not the most noisy as the other, there is no such thing as most quiet with most effect, with out going into suppressor.

This one is very effective, but very noisy.
