Best Range in the GTA

Hi Folks,

I have always been going to the same range which is 3 hours away from the GTA during my work assignment. I am now back to the city, which range is great to enroll in close to the west end of the GTA doesnt have a long waiting list?
 
I would say likely Sharon Gun Club is the best one in terms of range options and proximity to city. However the process of getting a share to become a member is a pain and can be expensive. You really get what you pay for however as the range is very clean with a nice clubhouse which can serve breakfast on Saturdays.

Silverdale Gun Club is located on the west side GTA, this is a large outdoor shooting range, usually doesn't have long wait lists and supports a wide variety of guns.
 
Call it a senior moment, but I totally forgot 2 other places that would bear consideration. Depending on your budget, buying a share in the Sharon Gun Club up in Mount Albert would be excellent. I read somewhere that expanded facilities allowed them to offer 250 new shares but I don't know if that's correct. Though not cheap, the Islington Sportsman Club in Tottenham have excellent facilities but I've been told that it is infested with fudds, like the Orillia Gun Club.
 
Could consider TIRPC and its associated trap & skeet club up the 400 a ways, or a bit further north Barrie covers all the bases with trap/skeet plus indoor and outdoor rifle/pistol ranges.

Yeah, but the RSO’s are over zealous and a severe annoyance.

Eg. Practicing pistol marksmanship on a row of 5 gongs in a wooden bunker…
Left to right , DING DING DING DING DING
Right to left, DING …. MISS… DING DING DING

RSO says: “slow down! You’re shooting too fast”

wtf. I paid money to be a member and I’m hitting targets not wildly shooting around. STFU and back off. Get a life.
Quit silverdale because they micromanage, and borderline harass you.
Even being 100% safe, and 100% responsible, they still always find a way to make your day unenjoyable.
GFY! And mind your business!

(I have not had these experiences at ANY other range, and I have been to dozens) …. Silverdale is ghey.
Great spot, but very nosy and annoying RSO’s. Literally not worth your time. F*** them.

Thanks! Will look into TIRPC. About an hour away from me, so well located. Looks like a great place.
Have heard great things about Barrie, but it’s a bit too far.
