The Vortex Strikefire is an interesting option. You can set it for either a red or a green dot and vary the brightness of it too. It comes with a mounting ring and an optical two times doubler that can be threaded on if you want to use it. I am just outside of Kingston so if you are interested drop me a PM and we can arrange for you to see it.
I have the bushnell trophy's with the changable reticle, work great.
Mines not mounted right now. I might put it on my turkey slayer though (870).
The best are the Aimpoints. Others will work ok. I always suggest looking for small lightweight units for shotguns because the recoil makes heavy units beat on the mounts really bad. Burris Speed beads, or Aimpoint micros fit the bill well.

+2. I've seen an aimpoint nailed wih a baseball batt and survive. If it's good enough for numerous militaries across the world, it'll stand up to a rough hunting trip.
Beware the Burris it does NOT fit weaver mounts. Yeeeeessssss the aim point is great BUT I have been shooting a Bushnell for 4 years. I like the dot in the circle for birds, and for trap for that matter.....still going strong and if it breaks I'll chuck it and still have 6 to go before I match the aimpoint price.......something to consider when you shoot how many rounds turkey hunting........
