Best reloadable 5.56/.223 bulk option?

I've recently purchased a AR-15, CC IUR 15.7" and wouldn't mind reloading for it. Figured I'd burn some factory ammo (with brass catcher) and then try tuning a load for my rifle?

So what brand would have the best reloadable brass but in bulk amounts? Who to buy from in lower mainland or with cheap/free shipping?

Sorry to hear your difficulties reloading military crimped primer pocket brass which I find unusual as I have reloaded thousands of mix brand mil casings without these issues you speak of but my method uses proper case prep equipment which cuts the crimp out after the primer has been punched out. Sure every now or then I may break or bend a decapping pin but as time and experience builds its a rare experience now plus keeping a spare pin handy.---Dieseldog!
 
I've used all kinds of brass including norc and have had no issues with any of it. I have some of the brass that Diesel speaks of , but have no use for it :)
 
Wow, I luckily found out before buying any brass. My work takes care of LFWA bases and ranges. So one of our building operators takes care of the RTA's and has 556 and 762 brass buy the barrel full! They are willing to give me some, just need to find out how much and what condition! Oh and how to transport from the rta to office.
 
You can swage out the crimp on military primer pockets (Dillon offers a tool for this) but I have found the best way is to trim(mill) away the crimp with a uniformer (Lyman makes a good one). It only has to be done once and when done you have a military case that is slightly thicker than a commercial case . Since the extra thickness of the case makes the internal capacity slightly smaller than a commercial case, start your powder load about 15% lower than normal and work your way up while looking for case deformation. I have a thousand IVI cases that have been prepped and waiting for a rainy day to work on a load development. Phil.
 
for cost, I find Norinco brass to be excellent. its super cheap(nearly free at the range), I have only had a couple or 3 split cases over the years, and I have zero problems with primer pockets or seating primers or seating projectiles.

With hand loads it shoots as well as anything else I have shot out of my rifle. Better than most.

now, I don't have a sub MOA target bolt action, nor do I measure case capacity with any real accuracy, nor do I measure or turn case necks, so for that crowd, it may not be ideal, but for the cost and for what I use it for, its top notch.
 
I actually had the chance to take about 200 norinco surplus brass cased rounds, but left em considering they were chinese surplus... Will grab them next time!
