best reloading manual for 41 long colt

Hi All, looking to get into reloading for my 41 long colt. I seem not to be able to find much in the way of reloading info for my 1877 thunderer. What manual is best to buy for this info since I dont have a manual yet, and need to get one.

I don`t think you will find much in the way of a manual for 41 long colt. It was a blackpowder round. You can google how to reload metallic cartridges with black powder. The only smokeless powder that is still around from 41 long colts day is bullseye. You can google bullseye and 41 long colt to get the original loads. As for a manual, well that would probably be an antique as well. It is not a hard bullet to load for if you have the 386 hollowbase bullets. THE original heal base bullet requires some sort of crimp. I believe NEI still produces a mold and RCBS Still produces dies. Good luck.

Thanks, thats what im really looking for, current info to reload them, what powders to use, bullets etc.

From Lyman Ideal book #40...........196 cast heel base/3gr Bullseye/700fps or 5gr Unique/890 fps same bullet #386177 200gr cast hollow base/3gr Bullseye /700fps or 5gr Unique for 880fps same bullet #386178...............Harold
