Hi
I need your help cgner

Which one of the remington semi auto is the most reliable and accurate
740
742
7400

Thanks

Bud

My vote goes to the Model 750 which has improvements to the gas system over the 7400.
These are good lookin' & nice handling units. I lean toward the 35 Whelen chambering meself. :)

I shed no tears when Remington quit making a semi.

Seen a lot of them in the woods over the years, and a lot of them jam up. Have also seen a few BARs jam up too.

7400 or 750 models work great. In my experience ( I have had at least 5 Remington semi's) any issue to load was caused by the magazine. A little tweak with an AR15 field tool on the feed lips usually fixed the issue. They wouldn't be considered super accurate or easy to work on but are a decent option if priced right.

The only problem with a 7400 is the guy owning it
Ask how many with issues if they even know how to take it apart and clean it to keep it working properly and see what response you get.
Take care

I had a 742 in 30-06 for a few years. It would eat anything from crappy handloads to very old surplus. Never had an issue. I think i only cleaned it just before i sold it. Had hundreds if not thousands of rounds.

Had some 10rd mags too.

A good friend and hunting buddy has a 7600 in 30-06 that was a POS.
