Hello all.

Almost bought an AR15 but instead just bought a new (to me) VZ58 (in 5.56/223) from a fellow CGNer. Couldn't resist as it's non-restricted so I can shoot it much closer to home than an AR, therefore I will shoot it more often no-doubt.

Looking through various forums, it appears that most if not all people upgrade from the stock sights. I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent set of sights or just a replacement rear sight for it, that are available in Canada. I just ordered a replacement forestock from Zahal, so picatiny/weaver mountable sights are in, as well as anything that will just swap 1 for 1 with the factory sight.

I'm hoping to use this rifle for 3 gun, and as an occasional general bush gun. As well as my OMG the Mayans were actually right gun.

I'm luke warm on scopes and electronic sights, as weight is something I want to keep to a minimum. Durability/reliability is also hugely important. Going to be shooting mostly inside 100m. Some kind of AR style flip sight with multiple peeps (a la C7A1) to allow switching between close-in and longer range would be ideal. I've looked around, but it's hard to tell what's worthwhile and there don't seem to be that many available for sale in Canada that have detailed reviews available online.

Thanks all.

ifyou are looking for rauch's peep sights I dont think they are making them anymore and if that is the case just put up a WTB ad in the EE looking for a rear peep sight.

i would go with ranuch peep sight altho i have never tried it , im just partial to peep sights .

I have fibre optics on two of mine and a raunch peep on yet another. They are all improvements. The price on fibre optics is way too high though.

Last time I talked to Sean,he said he was moving in another direction (business wise) and I was asking about the peep sight at the time, as it was hard to find any out in the real world
