Best rifle sling?

I have had a pain in the a** trying to find a sling for my new(ish) rifle. I was looking for a slim cobra style in leather or nylon, but all I can find anywhere is HUGE 3" wide slings with an inch thick foam pad that look like they would be best suited to carrying around buckets of lead:mad:. All I want is a light, nice looking sling for my Kimber montana. Who makes your most comfortable sling?

PS. yeah I did buy one of the huge ones, but only because I bought the rifle last Oct. and needed one,with the intention of replacing it (the sling) for this season
 
I have an Uncle Mikes on my M700. I think they called it the "mountain sling" . It is black nylon, about an inch wide, backed with some Kind of a "no slip" material to keep it from sliding off your shoulder. It' light, pliable, and comfortable, and will pack into a very small space if you want to take it off.
 
Hunting rifles usually get carried more than shot. That 3" wide sling will become your friend. Mind you, Uncle Mike's kit is good stuff and doesn't cost a big pile of money.
 
Pre-chinese made Butler Creek neoprene slings are now my favorite but I still like the older 1" wide military slings that adjust from short to long by just pulling one way or the other on the sling.
 
I have a much cheaper solution that I know works well. A belt. Yup, a normal, wrap around your waist and hold up your pants belt. Comes in many sizes and widths, made of good solid leather and you probably have a free one in a drawer somewhere. My picture could be better but you can see the belt and the zip tie/paracord attachments to the levergun. This gun sees well over 100 field days a year.

At first I didn't like them at all, but now all that I use is the Butler Creek Comfort Stretch slings. I use my sling as a shooting aid, as well as a carrying device, and I find that the stretch actually enables me to sling up tighter, while using the hasty sling method. They are very comfortable to carry with as well.
