Just getting back into the swing of things after a 5 year layoff. Want to put together a decent rimfire set up on a budget. I'm partial to the MK2 heavy barrel I used to do pretty well with those and I like the price. Looking around after several years off I have to admit I'm overwhelmed at all the brands and models and could really use some help seeing if I can get a nice scope and rings for $500 or less and if so who the stocking dealers may be. Thanks in advance.

Really depends on what you'll be doing with the rifle.... Shooting gophers, shooting long range, PRS competitions?..... I think a great option for rimfire is the vortex diamondback tactical 4-16x44. Great little scope for the price, it's light, FFP, available in both MOA or MRAD. Or you could look at the Bushnell options as well.

have a look at the cabelas covenant line of scopes, right in your price range when on sale, FFP with the chrostmas tree for hold over and wind correction

By far the best for the $, IMHO...Nikon Prostaff P3 Target EFR, 3-9×40, AO, Matte, Precision

this these are great scopes for the money. if you can wait for them when they come on sale for 299 that's even better

They're not bad scope, better when bought at a discount. Have the FFP 4-16x44mm on Brno #4, not a bad scope.
- For the $, with the current discount, a Bushnell might be a better option. As in, a better warranty if ever needed.

Have you tried Scorpion Outdoor Products? They are in MB, and a lot of the member dealers carry their line of scopes. I have seen a lot of these in Ontario, and the owners have been so happy, and I have been so impressed, I just bought one for my CZ .17. our budget would get you a great scope; I spent $250.00, and it's as good as a $400.00 Nicon IMO.
