So I've finally decided to get a scope for my m14, a rather simple decision but with all the various makes and models out there I'm left scratching my head:confused: I thought I'd see what fellow gunnutz are sporting on their rifles and why they chose their particular scope:cool: I've got a budget of roughly around $1000 for a new scope so fire off your recommendations!

What do you plan on doing with your M14?

What sort of ranges will you be shooting at?

Are you hunting or just target shooting?

If you're hunting, what sort of country will you be in?

I can tell you what I've got on my M14, but it may be completely unsuitable for your purpose.

I dfiscuss the M14 scope situation in the FAqS ... SEE THE STICKIES.

SHORT ANSWER ...
the 14 is very hard on cheap scopes.
I had one brand new Tasco target fall aaprt in less than 20 rurets.ds.
Literally fall apart ... the front half came loose in the turret.

I recommend:

best inexpensive scopes - the OLD/made in JAPAN, Bushnell Scopechief VI,
I've got one fixed 4X model which has logged hundreds of rounds through numerous 14s

good inexpensive tactical - Bushnell 3200 10X mildot

or ....
if the sky is the limit,
Zeis is nice!

Im interested to hear if anyone has had any problems with the Falcon line being on an M14 and taking the crap kicking those guns dish out.

Ive seen some Millet DMS ones getting mounted up too, but I havent talked to anyone who has come back in after shooting it.

I can't make up my mind on ethier a trijicon 2.5-10x56mm green mil-dot or an elcan spector 1.5-6 in 7.62.
:runaway:
