I'm in the process of building a 10/22 and was looking for some opinions as far as glass goes. I'm leaning towards the new 3-9 Leupold VX Freedom EFR which should be available in a month or two.

I have a new freedom series rimfire and a vx2 rimfire. Quality seems a bit higher on vx2. Glass is a hair or two brighter on the freedom series. Turrets much nicer on the vx2 rimfire.

Just bought myself a Vortex Diamondback 4x16x44mm with EBR2 reticle FFP for my Ruger 10/22 rig to remain in Production Class....decent glass for the money and the reticle is pretty darn good! Now to spend lots more Range time with this Vortex scope!

Cheers, Barney

I went with a Nikon rim fire scope, it was around $300, put it on my 10/22 targe and was thoroughly impressed with its performance. I was able to pit 10 rds in 1 cm at 50m. Glass is really good, and for the money, you will be hard pressed to beat it.

Thanks for all the replys. I will look into Nikon also. I have some of their binoculars and the glass is nice.

Weaver Classic rimfire series, the R4 (4x28) and V7 (2.5-7x28) are crap. If you find one for sale let me know and I'll try to buy it to take it off the market as a public service.

I've been very happy with my leupold vx-freedom rimfire 3-9x40 from reliable. Another I've tried is Nikon p-22 2-7x32, great value and even cheaper if you're into tacticool.

Id strong suggest getting a Leupold VX II with AO in 4-12x40. I picked up a mint one for around $400 I believe. Great optic that can be used on .22 LR up to 300 win mag. I have it on my .243 for late winter coyotes then its going on a .22 LR for the summer.

I have the Nikon P-rimfire 2-7
Honestly I don’t like the turrets and don’t like the reticle, I did when I bought it but after a few years, meh...
I also have a Cabela’s Pine Ridge 6-18x40 side focus and came with a variety of caliber specific elevation turrets.
Again I liked it when I got it but after awhile having 6 power as the floor left me wanting.
Both are slated for replacement shortly.
I picked up a Bushnell Engage 2.5-10x44 SF 30mm tube with the deploy moa reticle on a Black Friday deal from a vendor on here, just under $300.00, regular is just under $400.00
You can adjust parallax down to 10 meters IIRC.
Looking forward to see how it works on a rim fire.
