I'm thinking of buying a bolt action 22 and was wondering what the best scope under $350.00 would be. I have a Legend 5-15 on my 10/22 and really like it and would consider another one, but I may be willing to spend a little more. It would be used mostly for 50-100 yard paper and gophers.

Check out my website at www.whitefalls.ca I've got some scopes there that might be of interest to you especially the APV 4.5-14x40 or possible the 8.5-25x44 Eraticator. Since the APV hasn't been placed on my website yet you can check out this scope in the optics section of CGN.

scope

I just bought a 1 year old leupold VXII 3X9X40 for 350.00 off of a fellow gunnut, i chose this as i felt no need for more magnification and if i ever had a scope fail one of my hunting rifles i would have a spare, i use the same scope on them. I have a CZ 452 L/H and the combo is deadly.

That was a good deal on that one.

Same here for not hearing of Mueller before. For something that's German, why are they so inexpensive? Please don't misunderstand...if its German, it's good. Pricey too usually.

Keep looking at the EE

I've bought some used higher end scopes on the EE forums. Haven't been disappointed yet. A good used Leupy beats a new cheap Bushnell any day.

Muellers are Chinese I think, the optics quality is way beyond the price. It is actually quite unbelievable. I bought an Erradicator and an APV. The Erradicator at 25X is clear and bright. I have not shot it to see how well it tracks and holds zero. The etched glass recticle is great. I keep wondering how they can put out such great optics at the price they do. I almost want to stock up for when the price goes up. I have read nothing but good things about them. A couple leupold snobs had some neg feedback but they never actuallly owned one. If they shoot as good as the optics quality they would be an excellent choice for under 350$

Mueller

Please see my positive comments about the Mueller APV on the Optics forum.
I am very pleased with the scope. Karl

the best scope under $350 is a Leupold from the equipment exchange, ther is usually a Vari-xI or II in that price range in both fixed power and the M series fixec powers. The great thing about buying a used Leupold is that it can be sent to the repair facility i Okotoks Alberta, wher they will put everything as good or better than new at no cost to you other than shipping it to them. You won't get a much better deal than Mico1 is offering, Leupold Vari XI NIB for $275 + $15 for expedited shipping. bearhunter
