Where is the best shop to see a wide variety of over under shotguns and have a chance to handle them. Interested in clays guns (skeet, sporting).
I live in the london area but don't mind making a day trip out of it.

It's a "day trip" all right ... but One of the best selection of target guns I've seen in one place (other than at the A.T.A. Grand ) is at Jaqua's Fine Guns in Findlay, OH.
Nothing in Canada comes close.

Bought a few guns from Jaqua's in the pre-911 days, declare them, pay the duty and bring them over. About a 16 hour round trip from Orillia !
Lots there to see and handle ... they have a web site.

Epps has relatively few target guns in stock. Jaqua's is about 50 km further than Epps from London. ... oh yah, don't forget your Passport

Not sure how you come to that conclusion.

We carry over-under shotguns from Beretta, Bettinsoli, Browning, Caesar Guerini, CZ, Franchi, Rizzini, Baikal, IGA/Stoeger, and others, as well as used models from manufacturers such as Weatherby, Winchester, Marocchi, Gamba, Zoli, and others.

All of our guns -- both new and used -- are listed on our website for customers to review at any time. If you find any item that is of interest to you, make note of the inventory stock number, then give our store a call. Any one of our staff members will be happy to assist you with your questions.

Someone works at epps.... Look into which models your interested in, if you can stay on this side of the boarder all the better.

If you are an Epps employee... pass along a message... your gun counter staff need to take a group PR session...

I appreciate and understand your loyalty to your place of work and/or business.

I've been an "Epps" customer since the late 60's, through Cliff Schissler, Elwood & Donny Epps and George Wise and the eventual progression to the Winkel family.
It's not a "shot" at the business ... and I am in there often enough ( at last, 2 weeks ago ) to be reasonably familiar with your shotgun inventory on display, and am
absolutely familiar with your webs site, both previous and current versions.

The poster asked to see & handle a wide variety of skeet & sporting clays guns. To that end my response was so directed. I did not advocate that he purchase below the border, just that there were a wide variety of target guns there to look at.
Jacqua's indeed has a huge inventory of target shotguns on display, perhaps not including Baikal, IGA & Stoeger, but otherwise include not only the mainstay Browning & Berettas, but also Blaser, Perazzi, Kolar, Kreighoff ... and others. Have you been there ??? I've visited most of the big gun shops from Atlantic Canada to B.C and from Maine through to Michigan, and Massachusetts to Tennessee. I still say Jacqua's is where the OP has the best chance to see and handle a wide variety of target O/U's. And they are very accommodating to let you do so.

"hoytcanon's" remarks bear some consideration. Trying to get someone to even say "hello" or "good morning" when you come through the door can be a challenge.
It's nice to be busy ... but it's even better to be nice ... something often lacking on Hwy 11N !

The people working gun shops here have no idea what it's like to walk into a Jaqua's, Guns Unlimited(Nebraska) or a place like Joel Etchen Guns. They have more of one model Target gun alone than most gun shops in Canada's total inventory!! I know what you are saying Beretta Boy, been to those places myself in my ATA travelling days. INCREDIBLE!!!

Isn't that the truth?!!! I always made a point over a 30 year period of stopping in and shopping whenever I was in the area. I quit a couple years ago. Not just the gun counter but all the staff could use a PR course!!!

Hey Guys
Thank you so much for your input. I have bought numerous guns from Epps and most other sponsors on this site but Beretta Boy is bang on, I am left handed and need to handle and swing a sporting shotgun before I purchase, especially because I plan on buying a very nice one. again as always you guys come through with great help.
Thank you - j

Seems "the spank" and I have travelled some of the same roads !

As a "lefty" looking for a better grade O/U ... Joel Etchen Guns may be the better bet - as they tend to specialize to some extent in left-handed guns.
Ligonier, PA is not the easiest route from London, however, I think it may be well worth your while to make a trip out of it.

I heard a rumor that Gagnon's had a LH DT11... Might wanna take a look there. The DT is an awesome gun, shot it many times, unfortunately a little to deep for the point I am at!
