Best shot gun to shoot on?

-steel shot involved or not?
-upland game only opens the market tremendously
-trap, skeet, clays or hunting?
-many shotguns are set up for RH firing, LH, not as much
-slug shooting or buckshot use a possibility?
-is the user recoil sensitive and wishing for a semi-auto?
-is the user comfortable with a heavy gun or otherwise?
-does the user care to use unusual gauges not commonly found ammo, such as 28, 16 or 10?
-will you be sitting in a ground blind or making tracks all over the hunting fields all day long?
-some shooters use different chokes based on hunting over dogs or otherwise

Never ever seen a Benelli Drilling myself.
I really like the ergonomics of the mossberg 500 and 590.
- ambidextrous safety that you can see without tilting the gun to check.
- slide release is at the back of the trigger guard so you don't have to move your trigger hand to use it
- cheap but well built, models have both proven themselves to be reliable. (extra barrels for the 500 at least are cheap too btw)
870 is the 500's competition and it's a great shotgun too.
Ithaca 37 is another neat one, it's a bottom load and eject so it suits lefties as well as righties.

Not sure what action you ar looking for or what you will do with the shotgun.
If goose and steel shot are involved the requirements are quite different. Turkey guns also have a few different needs.

I've shot most pumps and my Favorite is the mossberg 500.
From a hunting perspective I like my browning bps and would take it for goose, Turkey or grouse, or even deer with rifled slugs.
If you're looking at a semi? Well I've shot Benelli, remi, and browning... But I love my beretta AL391. Simply because it's as if it was made for me! The fit is perfection.
Many times it comes down to holding them and what fits you!
