best shotgun for a tall person

Take a drive to the nearest gun shop and see what feels good in your arms. Then do some research on the gun that felt good to you to see if its going to be a good gun.

Take a look at the length of pull of the shotguns you are interested in. In most cases the longest are 14.75" (I could quickly be corrected on that). That would be a good place to start if you find most guns too short. Take 636's advice though and shoulder as many as you can. You can always add a longer buttpad or you may also want to look into shotguns with a shim spacer system like the beretta 391's.

I am only 6'4" but every gun is different. Find the one that is comfortable and go with it. I have a Citori 32" trap special that is supposed to be for "big people"
and I dont really like it. My best friend who is 5'10" shoots it way better than I do and yet with my 26" lightning I can out shoot him hands down.

My buddy is 6'6" and he shoots a Browning BPS 12 ga magnum pump. I am 5'10" and I cannot make that gun fit at all. The reach of the BPS is LOOONG! He shoots it well and it looks right when he uses it. Best of all they run around 550.00 bucks NEW!

cheers Darryl

While your height may be indicative of your other critical measurements, it is quite meaningless on its own. I'm 5'10" and my measurements, taken by my gunsmith, indicate a lenth of pull of 15" to be optimal. This is long for a person of my height.

Get measured or start shouldering a lot of different guns.
