Buddy with a new PAL was asking were to get a quality SKS these days? It has been a few years since I got mine... who has got a decent quality one recently and from where? I did hear that the quality ones were drying up? Cheers!

EDIT: I looked, and Weimajack has some beauties in the $289 range. That would be my approach.

I bought one back from a friend just this weekend. I sold it to him in 1989. It was a matching Russian, well used. IIRC, that was all we got back then. It is the true "beater" rifle. The bill said $82 + $10. Must have been my cost plus a bit for freight.
I only have two left now, and that will be the last I get. SKS's sold like there was no tomorrow a while ago, but now everybody has their nose stuck in the smart(?) phones and don't seem to want them.
