Okay guys, I know this has been asked numerous times but I am trying to get to the point. Would a new Marstar chinese SKS be the best SKS out there to Bubba up by getting a Tapco stock and turning into a pure hunting, and target shooting gun?

I had a 1950 non chrome lined barrel, and although the spring loaded firing pin was a big plus, it really sucked to clean after shooting corrosive ammo.

Do you guys think that a chrome lined barrel Russian SKS would be a better gun to Pimp out than a Chinese built one?

Best SKS for Bubba to work his magic on would be a Chinese commercial. No collector value at all, low desireablity, low value.

An SKS is just a SKS does not matter what vintage. Some people like them more than others and they are called "Hector's" as in "Hector the Collector".
I think the Marstar has the best SKS's right now for the Bubba as well as the Hector.

Ya, thats what I thought guys. Thanks, I think that that I will grab a Marstar SKS, then give uncle Bubba a phone call and tell him to come by for a visit.

No, we may laugh about them being cheap now, but eventually they will start to become rarer and their prices will go up, and guess which ones will be worth more? The military ones.

The current Marstar SKS's are not commercial ones, but actual unissued military ones.

This has already happened with several milsurp rifles such as the M1 Garand and Lee Enfield.

The best one to bubba would be a Norinco commercial model, or a heavily refurbed russian.

Millions upon millions were made, doesn't really matter. I personally would not bubba an unissued Russian. The rest, who cares.

well said , some people dont learn.

I think I will go with a Marstar Chinese SKS, since they are Chrome lined, and from what I have heard, they are reliable and above average in accuracy. They are also about the cheapest SKS out there.

You can't go wrong. In fact, I think I might get on the phone and order one tomorrow as well. :D
