Best Sling for M305/M14

That is correct. The 1907 pattern. I have 4
Turner all weather biothane in black
Les Tam - took over a year to get, very nice custom markings bought the belt too but spensive
Ron Brown - as nice as the Les Tam cheaper and more readily available
MRT marked copy- inexpensive but a bit stretchy

The Les Tam and Ron brown are made from high quality thick brown leather from the same source. About 3/16" I think. They take some breaking in. The biothane sling is sweet on an AR. I use the MRT on my K31 and Swede Mauser.

Look up the proper use of above on utube for the shooting of the targets NM style. These slings really do improve your shooting prone, sitting and kneeling. They are adjustable in 1" increments. You can also do the same thing with a GI web sling by disconnecting the rear clip and adjusting the buckle so the loop fits your upper arm. You adjust length with the clampy thing.

That's unless you want a tactical sling. You know for those ops we all go on.

I run a VCAS padded sling, I run them on my 3 LRB's, for me it's the best possible sling as I hunt and pack mine quite a bit. I do like the 1907 as I have period slings on all my garands and 1903A3's and they are great slings for a variety of shooting positions if used properly.

That's a very nice rifle, looks a lot like mine aside from the expensive glass... Right now I have el cheapo 1.5-4 scope on until I can afford expensive stuff. Scope works well. Just missing a cheek rest on mine. Getting TNVC cheek pad next pay cheque

I have a padded VCAS on mine, but I've added so much weight to it it's more just for looks. When I get another M14 I'm probably going to try one of the Specter 2 or 3 point slings made for the M14 just to see how they are.

And that's just it. A good target sling may not be the best hunting sling. They are easy to change so have a selection. That Blue Force looks like a well made piece of kit.

I've used a few of their slings. They're ok but not great. The 3 point sling really is a thing of the past. A 2 point does every good carry position without several extra feet of webbing all over the place. Looks like a giant tassle flailing off the rifle. Their 2 points are alright but nowhere near as good as a VCAS. The length adjuster takes some technique to slide it reliably. Do it wrong (the most natural feeling way) and you're just yanking on your sling to no effect. However they have some unique mounting options and they're cheap enough to try without wasting too much money. Overall quality is good. Not great but not junk. I've moved passed them and can't find a better 2 point adjustable than the VCAS.

I love my Turner Saddlery biothane sling from Clay, Abalama. :)

The nice lady on the phone says,"we don't like liberals so we are happy to ship to you responsible gun owners. "

Was I ever glad to hear that! They have earned my support at my clinics

Cheers, Barney.
