Hi all

Whats the best spotting scope for under $700 preferably NOT made in china (if there is such a thing). I have looked around and almost everything in that price range seems to come from some Chinese factory.

I'll be using it for 300 yards and under, shooting 308 at a covered range. It won't be used for hunting so it doesn't need to be overly tough.

P.S i have tried the cheaper options such as a bushnell XLT and a Celestron Ultima and neither had decent eye relief and were almost painful to use

Cheers!

I picked up this one from Optics Planet. For the price very hard to beat. I did a lot of research. http://www.opticsplanet.com/konus-konuspot-20-60x100-spotting-scope.html

Some downsides:
- It is DARN bulky. You need a mother of a tripod to keep it steady

Light gathering is fantastic but I was I had bought a 20-60x 60mm or 80mm for less bulkieness. I too only use it at the range but it is bulky enough that it stops me from dragging it with me. Nice to have something that can sit on the bench.

The optics for the price are unbeatable however in my limited opinion.
