I'm searching for opinions on what hunters/shooters experienced, or might know what the best spotting scope is for $1,000.00? A spotting scope with the 65mm objective, best lenses, clarity and brightness. Thanks in advance!

It might take some shopping around and time on the EE, but I bet you could find the Gen 1 Vortex Razor spotter in that price range.

A couple years ago I picked up the 85mm Objective version for $1500 as Wholesale sports. If you're not going to be hiking miles and miles with it, I recommend the 85mm objective!

I have a Vortex Viper with an 85mm objective for sale on the EE.

It’s very sharp and has been a pleasure to use out to 300 yards for .22 and up.
Like the previous guy said, it’s not for hauling up a mountain (bought it for a goat hunt), but it’s the sharpest spotter I’ve ever owned (including a Leica 77).

Thanks A-Zone, however only want/need the smaller version, besides, I also prefer the straight and not the angle.

I've conducted a lot of research into various scopes where it was mentioned that the new Viper Series have optics equal or greater than the previous Razors. Thanks for the tip!

That's good to know. I've been looking at the Gen 1 razors, but if the new viper is just as good, I'll look into those.

I would definitely not spend a $1000 on a spotter. Save up until you can buy a better one. Because you will not be happy and you will end up costing you more money.Because you will try to sell it and buy a high n one. Ask me how I know and many people Have done the same thing

Because they never get 'locked' for some reason. Even when the info is obsolete. I guess they'd disappear if they were locked - get buried in years of drivel.
