Best stainless action and stainless heavy barrel for the MDT chassis?

Greetings to all. I have been planning a reasonably (read not scary) priced 22LR build. I am partial to the MDT stock in the XL size (I am 6ft7 tall), and would like a stainless barrel and (if available) a stainless action to match. I would like something well made, and have been reviewing CZ 457, Tikka (love my stainless walnut Sako85), Volquartsen etc. Hoping to budget 1500 or so without glass. Any advice how to squeeze the best setup into that chassis?....Oh- the Mrs. was a Cadet sharpshooter in her teens and wants one too.
Appreciate your expertise!

None of what you listed are available in stainless.

You might be able to make that build happen with a T1X and aftermarket barrel, only the receiver won't be stainless. The trigger and bolt handle come in stainless. The finish on mine has been very durable.

Anyone ever seen a CZ 457 stainless varmint rifle (22LR) for sale? This seems to be as close as I can find without buying a 457 stainless and perhaps adding a heavier barrel for another 500 bucks.

That rifle does not seem to exist. CZ offers the 457 Stainless with a light contour barrel only. Your best bet for this venture would be the acquire the cheapest possible 457 and then purchase an aftermarket barrel that suits you, as well as your preferred stock system.

true, but it still gets me a blued action. But I agree with you. There is a fellow named Matt on youtube who has done an excellent video on his 457 with stainless bbl. ( goes by Womfat or something like that?)

I don't really know what you're saying. There is no other version of the action available. The action is not blued, it is nitrided.

Thanks for the advice.. Is the Benelli M4 nitride finished? It seems certainly durable after lots of soaker days outdoors.
I did an online search and found a local retailer with CZ455's in stainless (action and barrel I was told). I did a side to side comparison with the 457, and to my liking, I felt the 457 was smoother... action, safety and I didnt even get to test the trigger.

Being freakishly tall, I will still need the MDT chassis though- the varmint was too little drop at comb. and 2.5 inch LOP short

Pending any new arrivals on the market, this causes me to halt the quest for the stainless and forge on with the best shooter for the buck- Blued or Nitrided or otherwise I think.

Tikka.
You get stainless touch points (barrel and bolt), fits a variety of chassis that can also work on a full sized T3X, mags have been more reliable than the CZs I shoot against for ORPS and factory trigger is much better.
Only downside is more difficult to swap barrels but definitely not impossible and most of them are excellent shooters out of the box.

Aaah. Genius idea! Buy the. T1x smallbore and have a T3x action on the side for longer range activities. I like it!
