Best way to hunt Moose

What do you guys do? Do you walk and stalk? Or do you sit on a watch? Would like to know your opinions and why you do that. Thanks.

our group will tour for a bit...when we find the signs ...and they will be thick..:) if you drove your atv across the main trail...you would feel it under the atv.....once we find a main trail like that ...we set up near it :) well with in a few hundred yards... then we would sit it out and call the meat home
 
Scout and then sit. And wait. Out very early and home in the dark if need be. The longer we go without meat on the pole, the harder we hunt and grumpier we become. No complaining only strategizing allowed. I love it!
 
September - sit at a cutline intersection and call.

November - find a track in the snow and follow into the bush. Or quad the lines and check willow patches.

Not real fancy, but it has never failed me. ever.
 
If I have a bull tag I like to call.(If rutting).If they are done the rutt calling is not very effective.

Other than that I do it the LeePeterson way.Find a trail to water and go from there.If a moose has water and a good food source it wont stray far from it,and stay in a small area.If I get tired of waiting for the moose to go to the water I go looking for it.I find if you lift a moose out of its bed it will only go 50yrd of so and stop to look back to try and figure out what you are.He may only do this once so you gotta be on the ball if you wanna get your shot.
May not be the best ways but they have worked for me in the past.

i sit in my stand very quiet and wait untill one is right below then i sprinng from my perch on to it and hump till it has a heart attack :eek:
j/k never hunted moose but with how big they are i assume that any method used to close to a water or food supply would be effective
 
scout and when you find sign find a good spot - preferably near water, but there's a whole bunch of factors involved - and 1 guy calls while the others guard the approach points.

if everybody observes noise wind and movement discipline, you shoukld have no issues. Our group is 10 for 10 years so far - once we started calling. Start practicing early...
 
It depends on the time of year.During the rut,I prefer to call a bull in.During the late season in Camp Wainwright,I drive around until I see the bull that I want.
