Best way to make 6.5-06 brass?

Why not anneal the case necks, charge with 13 -15 grs bullseye, top up with cream of wheat and a small wad of TP. Fireform to near a perfect cartridge. Most likely be able to bread partridges at 15 feet with that load! LOL!!
Usually have to shorten 270 brass a tad, not much though. I have used 25-06, 270, 280, and 30-06 in mine. Mostly 30-06 because it was plentiful and cheap. You can also buy euro brass (6.5x63 or 64, I forget). - dan
Just neck up 25-06,it's not much.I changed my RCBS stem to a Hornady,it's a much slicker button.The last two guys who had the rifle used the RCBS dies without the change.I lube the inside of the neck.I regually neck up 30-06 to 338-06 with one pass. Stick to one brand,Winchester and Remington 25-06 weigh different.
sunray: I don't understand why 25-06 brass would be thin for 6.5-06?
If you want real quality brass you could also neck down Lapua 30-06 brass easily. Using Redding FL 25-06 dies, and Imperial Wax I have necked down Lapua 30-06 to 25-06 in one step without waisting any cases. The necks were not too thick to use, although I did neck turn once I fire formed to 25-06AI. The Lapua brass would be great in a 6.5-06 and would last for a very long time... too expensive if its just for a hunting rifle where the brass will be lost in the snow

If my rifle would have been available in 6.5-06 or 6.5-06AI I would have gone that route instead of the 25-06AI I think, much better choice of bullets.

I have made literally hundreds of 6.5-06 brass from 25-06 with nary a problem. AAMOF, I often found that Once fired 25-06 brass was just about right for the neck expander of a 6.5-06 to pass through, so thinning of this brass is a non-issue. By far the easiest way to get your 6.5-06 brass. Regards, Eagleye.
Doesn't 270 brass require trimming? For case trimming I use the Lee trimmer and a drill.When I got a 264,I had Lee make a 264 gage,whick oddly enough is also right the 6.5-06. I think they might have turned down a 30-06 gage. So if you know someone with a lathe,or you can phone Lee.
