Better/cheapest way to find an Savage 10 action (for a custom build) + PORT QUESTION

Hi there,

Is the best way to find a Savage 10 action is to purchase an used rifle? Or there is any retailer that can have some?

---ALSO---

Not sure to understand what is PORT /EJECT difference: Left port / Left eject, right port left eject, etc....
I'm right handed, so what should I consider to stay mostly standard? Right port and right eject?

You can buy target actions (non-repeating), but if you want a repeating action you pretty much need to buy a used rifle or sometimes you can buy just a action on the EE. But that being said the actions alone are usually over priced.

By saying a repeating action, you means semi-auto? Or mass production standard action?

Do what I did, buy rifle for $589. Take off barreled action & put into chassis system (changed mag pattern too). Sell stock, bottom metal & included 10 round savage mag for $250.

BAM brand new $300 barreled action with threaded barrel, oversize bolt handle & never been used!
