my 336 came with a scope mounted, using those high see through rings. it raaise it up so that it is awkward and almost uncomfortable to look through. and the stupid part is the one of the whole ideas of the see through mount is so the irons are visible, but the bolt that secures the rings to the mount block the rear sight so it can't be seen! are there any rings that lower the scope a bit without interfering with the opensights, don't care if it means the irons can't be used with the scope attached.

yes i know a scope on a lever action is an abomination, but it came with it so might as well use the damn thing. and it's not like it's a light weight 1886 takedown in .33 WCF or anything.....

your rings are probably weaver cross slot..... so just go buy a set of weaver cross slot bases.... easy as pie :) you would need low or medium..... figure anything under 40mm objective get low rings... anything over get medium.

better yet take the gun into a gun store and get them to swith it around :)

Throw the danged scope away!
Lever guns look better, handle better, and shoot well enough without them.
Get a good receiver sight!

Can I get an amen brothers and sisters? Scoping a lever should get you a caser of the itch.

.........here ya go Big Ugly!!!! I don't feel itchy at all either!!!;)
