Beware of HiViz sights for your SKS

I bought this product from hical.ca

The problem is that the sight post is made from plastic. In order to get the thing in-line with the barrel, I had to use the provided tool and tighten it right in there. Unfortunately, this causes the plastic "horns" of the sight to become warped and out-of-alignment with each other. This also caused one of the holes into which the LitePipes fit to break. In other words, unless you luck out and "tight" just happens to be in-line with the barrel, then you will have the choice of either over-tightening to get it aligned or having it loose and out of alignment.

When I contacted HiCal I was told that it the HiViz sight is "fragile". Ergo, a terrible product IMHO...and they can't warranty damaged parts. So that's $38 + tax down the drain.

Haha this reminds me of the time I bought stuff from fabsports out of Quebec. Everything was garbage, broke, or just wouldn't work and the dude was like SORRY YOU BROKE IT

Wow, I just assumed they'd be steel or aluminum. You know, like all the real sight mfrs use. For a nice upgrade try the tech sights front post in your SKS if hical has them. Even with the factory open sights its a nice upgrade. Not fiber optic but it won't break as you install it either lol.

I'm not wild about plastic sights either. I bought a Thompson Center Traditions Muzzle-loader which over-all was a VERY nice rifle for $200, however plastic sights and sight bases were included. The front sight promptly snapped off and I managed to replace it with a better tru-glo steel fibre optic sight.

Plastic sights - no seal of approval from the rookie.

They are aluminium, i have installed dozens of sets. You need to locktite them to index & they are fragile if overtightened. They work well when installed. Call in for free tips or tricks on any of our products if you are not sure, we will gladly share our experience!
