To avoid being taken to the cleaners run the serial number here: https://www.colt.com/serial-lookup

There are some people offering units that have been polished at home from regular stainless units. The above Colt database will tell you if its regular or bright stainless unit. If a home polished unit, it actualy decreases the value to a serious colector! Do NOT trust pictures!
If not in the database(not unusual) call Colt 1800 962-2658 free from Canada.
Also many are shown with original blue boxes and papers. These are often after market fakes bought of Ebay - yes they even include matching serial numbers(provided by ebay seller). Mfg. years had specific types of boxes with unique interiors, so learn which is correct for your year, before you spend your $$$.
BSS Anaconda was only made as 1st Edition in specialy designed cases.

I know someone who needed a hammer spring for a revolver. He then found out that he did not have a Colt!

LOL

Sorry but I think that would be a buyer related problem. Kinda like buying Ferrari and getting a Fiero kit car (or a VW lol) instesd, in that matter you should know better.

Cheers,
Evan

Did you know there were/are Smolts made of S&W M27 frame and Colt Python barrel? People collect them!

IMO if the seller advertise it as something it's not, it's just plain fraud.

It's like all those aftermarket refinished nickel SIGs in the US with crazy prices; if it's not factory, it's not worth the asking price; it has no value to a collector...

I'd like to add to this post by stating gunbroker and eBay still have NOS Colt boxes, labels, custom shop labels, manuals, hang tags, Colt warranty cards etc for sale. Be careful because you may be buying a gun with box and papers but the box and papers are all fake.

Or being on vacation in Thailand, meeting a beautiful girl.......

Fraud is a terrible thing.

Definately need to give all products a thorough inspection, regardless of what claims are made

this may not be the place, but , does any one know what I would have to pay for a blue python hunter? I believe they were 8" or 8.5" not sure. Thanks Deadeye
