BFG VCAS Sling

Hey everyone

I'm looking to grab a BFG VCAS sling. I have a Norinco CQA with magpul furniture. I was going to order one from One Shot and I had a few quick questions.

When I was looking at the ordering options you can choose an Molded or Aluminum adjuster. Was wondering what the difference was.

Then there was a style option, one for Push Buttons front and back and the other for regular. Once again what were the differences.

And was there any other equipment needed to install the sling on CQA with the CTR stock and MOE handguards?

P.S. Sorry if this is redundant, I did do a little search but couldn't find answers to my questions, all I kept reading was how great the VCAS sling was.

According to the BFG site, you will be fine with the "molded" adjuster. The Aluminium one is for heavier guns.

If you have the CTR, the push button style will attach to the stock, if you want to run it from there. If you prefer to run it from the rear of the receiver, you will need the appropriate end plate, or a different connection method.

As for the front, you will need some means of attaching it to the handguard. Either a BFG "cable" adaptor, or a short rail, like the MOE illumination kit (which will also allow you to mount a light), and a sling swivel adaptor such as the DD one. If you go that route, you might as well get the std sting, and get the DD mount with swivel, and a spare DD swivel (Wolverine Supplies).

I would also say to get the padded version, as it is more comfortable if you are not running armour.

Great info. I think ill get one tomorrow. I'd like to perhaps run it from the receiver, can you suggest a end plate? If I decide that I want to switch up and run it from the stock, I can just re-hook it right? I wouldn't need any additional attachments?

I still have the original sling clip at the front of my rifle right in-front of the MOE hand-guards. Can I attach the sling there without getting an attachment for the front? Here's what it looks like, will I be able to attach the VCAS sling without additional parts?

No problem running the VCAS with what you have.

Loop it into the sling loop at the front and through the slot in the buttstock. Intructions in the package with point this out.

No problem running the sling to that front sling loop. The sling twists a little at the front because of it, but this isn't a huge issue. Still works as it should.

The molded adjuster is made by ITW, and it slides a bit faster.

The molded one is usually what most individuals get for 3 gun, service rifle, etc. while the aluminum one it what we mainly sell to DND, RCMP, LE Tac Teams etc.

Why is it that those organisations are specifying the metal adjuster? Have they been destoying the acetal ones?

While I'm asking, do you have any plans to bring in any of the mount-n-slot gear?

Receiver End Plate

OP,

As Farmboy has said, you could run the sling without swivels. As you stated you might want to switch positions, QR swivels might be a better option.

For the endplate, you could look at Noveske or DD, or a few others. I am running a DD quick release on the front attached to a short Magpul rail from the Illumination kit, but it is a little bulky, which is why I asked about the Mount-n-Slot gear.
rounds through it before you add the bling. Most people who have been doing this a while have a box of stuff due to changing configurations.

Nope.

To give you an idea about the Acetal parts. We sold over 20,000 VCAS slings in last couple of years, and I have had 2 broken buckles come back for warranty.

We've never had an Acetal adjuster come back.



Oh any if anyone is interested, Edwin and Traci from Blue Force Gear will be here in the store this Friday 17th afternoon and Sat 18th morning.

Thanks for the quick response. I was just wondering if you had any info, but 1/10000 is better odds than the lottery.

Will the folks from BFG be bringing some extra slings in their luggage? I'm eagerly awaiting my backorder.

Also, anything on the Mount-n-Slot gear?

I'll have to look into the Mount-n-Slot. Not sure if they can bring something or if they have already been tavelling. I'll confirm
