Hey fellas,

I’m sure there are many of you currently running a BSF barrel. Those of you that installed your own, was the tolerances between the barrel and the upper receiver quite loose? I’ve installed a few match barrels over the years, and they all needed grease and a rubber mallet to install.
This barrel went in without either, and still has play.

Normally “yeah, but how does it shoot” always comes into play, however May 1st has made that pretty difficult.

On almost a $1,000 barrel, I would think one wouldn’t need to have to do that or bed it. If this is common, and they shoot fine, so be it. That’s why I want to hear from other owners.

My understanding is this is normal with BSF barrels.

I know some of those folks with BSFs have used shim stock as I suggested, and one person I spoke with reported back they were getting 0.5 - 0.75 MOA. Pretty decent I would say.

This was on a 223 Wylde barrel to be clear, but the premise is the same.
