Bi-focal contact lenses and rifle scopes

I'm new to progressive lenses, and shooting with them is a bit weird. I do notice how much easier it is to switch between looking at close distance at my scope turrets and at distance through my scope.

I've been talking to my optomitrist about getting special shooting glasses where-in the close section of the bifocal is at the top and the distance part is at the bottom, it would be interesting to see how they would work.

Monovision

This is the first I've heard of bifocal contacts so obviously I haven't tried them, but I've been using monovision contacts for a few years.

One side is for distance, the other side for close. The eye to be used for sighting needs to be corrected according to the type of sight, which can be a little tricky especially if you are shooting a pistol with irons and a rifle with optics in the same match.
